Spring Social with MS Society (age 12+) *Hands On*

Looking for a great way to welcome Spring and spread some love to the local community? On March 25th, the MS Society of Portland is hosting a Spring Social for Multiple Sclerosis patients, caregivers, and their families.

We are expecting 100-125 guests and with your help, we can make this event a great success! 

Volunteers on the Meal Prep (9:00 am - 12:30 pm) shift will:
• Provide all ingredients for the meal (to be assigned)
• Prepare meal for guests

Volunteers on the Set Up (9:30 am - 12:00 pm) shift will:
• Help unload party supplies from cars
• Set up tables, chairs, and decorations
• Assist guests into the facility from the parking lot
• Welcome guests as they arrive
• Help guests use the elevator
• Assist guests to tables as needed
• Offer drinks and mingling with guests

Volunteers on the Event Assistance (11:30 am - 2:30 pm) shift will:
• Assist guests into the facility from the parking lot
• Welcome guests as they arrive
• Help guests use the elevator
• Assist guests to tables as needed
• Serve meal to guests
• Mingle and have fun

Volunteers on the Clean Up (2:00 pm - 5:00 pm) shift will:
• Help guests leave the party, including assistance to the parking lot
• Help guests use the elevator
• Keep guests company while waiting for transport
• Help with tear down and clean up
• Carry supplies to cars

​Children ages 12+ with an adult may also volunteer. Due to limited facility/event space, only registered volunteers can attend; please do not bring additional guests. Volunteers are welcome to sign up for more than one shift. 

The MS Society of Portland's mission is to improve the lives of those living with MS through educating the public about MS and related problems while providing a social outlet for people living with MS and their families. It also provides a medical equipment closet, acupuncture, massage, referrals, advocacy and social events.

Project Requirements:

  • Volunteers must be 12 years of age or older to attend this project; any volunteer under age 18 must attend with a parent or adult chaperone.

  • All volunteers under 18 are required to bring a Youth Volunteer Release Form signed by their parent or legal guardian. Please download, complete, and bring this waiver with you on the day of the project.

  • If you plan to bring children or guests you MUST reserve slots for them. The best way to do this is to create a Volunteer Team, then sign up your team for this project.

    IMPORTANT NOTE: You are responsible for ensuring that everyone signed up through your team attends - only sign up team members who have confirmed their availability. Teams that repeatedly sign up, but do not show up or show up with fewer volunteers than they signed up, may be removed. To add or remove team members from a project, click on "My Account" and then "My Teams," above.
