Garden "Gnomes" needed for Portlandia Farm Standia (age 15+) Referral

Portland Community College- Rock Creek Learning Garden

The Rock Creek Learning Garden thrives with care and attention, and you could be involved in seeding, planting, pruning, harvesting, and working with other volunteers! We sell the produce we grow on campus at the Portlandia Farm Standia, where we are proud to accept SNAP benefits and donate any unsold food to the Women's Resource Center.

Harvest Crew: Tuesdays from 8am to 4pm

Join a team to harvest food for the cafeteria and farm stand. Help run the farm stand in the afternoon.

Weeding Warriors: Wednesdays and/or Thursdays from 9 am to 12 noon

70% of gardening is weeding! Come learn about organic gardens and small scale farms. Lend a hand to help us take care of the garden.

Please arrive prepared for all types of manual labor in the potentially hot sun! This means wear sturdy shoes, bring a water bottle, wear a hat, apply sunscreen etc. We have random gardening gloves, but if you have a pair of your own they might provide a better fit. See you in the garden!

The Rock Creek Learning Garden promotes interdisciplinary academic achievement, leadership development, and sustainable food systems. The Garden provides experiential education and life-long learning opportunities for PCC students, faculty, staff, and community members.
