Opportunity Details

Art at the Gresham Library (age 16+) *Hands On*

Hands On Managed projects offer you an opportunity to join a group of volunteers on a done-in-a-day project led by a Hands On Volunteer Leader

The mission of Trash for Peace is to provide hands-on, creative experiences that encourage resilient communities.

Join us at the library to help participants learn how to turn unwanted and recyclable materials into artistic treasures that are cool, fun, and functional! Since this isn't a formal art class, we need awesome, flexible, and go-with-the-flow volunteers to come and add creativity and assistance to the class. Examples of activities that you will help create include: recycled binoculars, plastic bottle planters, bottle cap stamps, dream catchers out of plastic lids, and so much more!

Please know you will be volunteering with a high energy group of kids coming from a wide variety of backgrounds. Patience, flexibility, and fun are important ingredients to bring with you when you volunteer for this project! Previous experience working with kids is helpful but not necessary. All aspects of the program are bilingual in English and Spanish.

Travel: The location of this library is 385 NW Miller Ave, Gresham, OR 97030. If signing up for this volunteer project please give youself ample time to get there taking in to consideration traffic.
