Back-to-School Educational Kids Fair @ Bienestar (age 8+) *Hands On*

Hands On Managed projects offer you an opportunity to join a group of volunteers on a done-in-a-day project led by a Hands On Volunteer Leader

Join us for a Back-to-School Fair at Bienestar!

The Back to School Kids Fair is an annual event held for residents of the Bienestar properties. Bienestar offers low-income housing and much, much more - including English classes, tax time assistance, computer and parenting classes.

The Kids Fair is a chance for children to collect the supplies needed to start the new school year off right. All children in attendance will receive a free backpack upon registering. They will then go to different stations to "win" school supplies. This is a great community building event, as children will be excited to share what they have won, will take part in a group cake walk and water balloon game, and enjoy lunch with their families and neighbors.

As a volunteer, you'll get to assist in running various stations, such as a dice game, math card game, fishing game, water balloon toss, free book giveaway. There will be a variety of outdoor games which volunteers will help run also. Free lunch is provided for all attendees and volunteers. The event is 100% donation and volunteer driven. Many of the Bienestar families are Spanish speakers, so this is a great opportunity to practice your Spanish language skills!

The kids fair is open to all residents of Bienestar housing and we anticipate approximately 150 children will attend.

Want to get involved but can't commit to this block of time? We are looking for donations - please reach out to Kaylen Miller: kaylen.miller@gmail.com if you would be interested in volunteering in a different way.
