Purse Stuffing Party (age 12+) *PHC 2019*

100 Strong in Beaverton is a giving-minded professional women’s group to advance and purposefully connect one another and impact our community.

In 2015, the 100 Strong in Beaverton took on a challenge: get 100 purses donated and fill them with necessities for our homeless lady friends that would be at Project Homeless Connect in January 2016. 400 purses later… It was a huge success and every lady left with a new-to-her handbag with items to make their life just a bit more comfortable. The January 2017 PHC event saw over 1,100 purses and bags donated, meaning that everyone was able to have a purse or bag!

This fall, the 100 Strong in Beaverton ran an amazing purse drive with a goal of collecting 500 gently used purses and hygiene items to aid our female guests who come to the project. The purses will be stuffed with hygiene products, but we need volunteers to help hand out the purses! This will be a fun and busy schedule-friendly way to connect with guests at Project Homeless Connect. You're welcome to sign up for just one shift, or stay for two!

When:

What to Wear & Bring (Optional):

Project Requirements:

  • Volunteers must be 12 years of age or older to attend this project; any volunteer under age 16 must attend with a parent or adult chaperone.

  • If you plan to bring other guests to the event, you MUST reserve slots for them. The best way to do this is to create a Volunteer Team. You can then sign up your team for this project. PLEASE NOTE: If you do reserve slots for multiple team members, it is imperative that each person signed up shows up. Spaces are limited and groups who don't show up can drastically reduce the amount of work each shift can accomplish.

  • All volunteers under 18 are required to bring a waiver signed by their parent or legal guardian. Please download, complete, and bring this waiver with you on the day of the project:
