Best Buddies Event Planning (age 18+) Referral
Best Buddies is an international nonprofit with a local Oregon presence that promotes friendship and inclusion for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
Best Buddies is looking for passionate and dedicated volunteers to help plan and execute annual Best Buddies events including the Friendship Walk in May and the Champions of Inclusion Gala in November. The Committee roles include logistical support, event sponsorship, recruitment, marketing, mission awareness and much more.
We are specifically looking for individuals who have experience:
-working with committees
-event planning
-fundraising
-marketing
-working with the IDD population
Best Buddies partners with local schools and universities to develop opportunities for socialization and inclusion for those with and without IDD by pairing them in one-to-one friendships.
Best Buddies also provides leadership opportunities by hosting trainings on speech writing and presentation skills to become advocates for themselves and inclusion in the community.
We typically meet 1-2 a month depending on current needs. Meetings are held via zoom on Wednesday or Thursday evenings from 6-7:30pm. As a event planning volunteer, you will help us plan our signature fundraising event and raise necessary funds to support and expand these programs.
