Community Care Day with Portland Public Schools (all ages)

Help prepare Portland Public School grounds to welcome students back to class this Fall!

Do you care about education and supporting youth by creating a healthy, clean learning environment where students feel safe and respected? In order to achieve this, Portland Public Schools holds the annual Community Care Day where community members come together to beautify grounds just in time for kids to come back to school.

Grab your gardening gloves and join students, families, Portland Public Schools staff, businesses, and community members in improving Portland Public Schools' grounds on the morning of Saturday, August 24th, 9:00 am to 12 noon, to enhance and beautify our buildings and grounds. We'll be landscaping and applying some elbow grease to make sure the schools sparkle before school begins!

Community Care Day doesn’t just improve schools – it also brings people together by giving families, students, staff and neighbors an opportunity to meet and connect with one another in the Greater Portland community. Your time and energy will make a direct impact on students, families, teachers, and the neighborhood!

Please bring your own water, snacks, gloves and gardening tools.

Visit www.pps.net/volunteer to view a list of participating schools. You do not need to pre-register. If you have questions, please contact volunteer@pps.net.
