Plant Neighborhood Trees in SE Portland (age 6+) *MLK Weekend 2020*

Join us in honoring the legacy of Dr. King through meaningful service to our community: "Everybody can be great... because anybody can serve."
-- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

About:
Friends of Trees inspires people to improve the world around them through a simple solution: Planting trees. Together.

We believe that trees have many benefits for our communities, including cleaning our air and water, and providing healthier places to work and play. Our community tree planting model relies on the support of thousands of community members annually to come out and plant trees together. We hope to work with you MLK Weekend 2020!

Project Description:
Let's plant trees together in SE and E Portland! Dozens of large (6-10' tall) trees will be ready for planting in their new homes, and your help is what makes this community planting possible!

Friends of Trees provides gloves, tools, and guidance, as well as breakfast snacks and coffee/tea/hot chocolate. There will also be a warm potluck lunch for everyone when the planting is complete provided by the hosting neighborhood groups -- we hope you can stay for it! Gloves, tools, and guidance are provided, as well as breakfast snacks and coffee/tea/hot chocolate.

Important Info:
Please arrive by 8:45am to enjoy some breakfast treats and hot coffee or chocolate. The planting starts promptly at 9:00am. Friends of Trees provides gloves, tools, and planting guidance, so all you need to do is show up dressed for the weather and wearing sturdy shoes or boots you don't mind getting a little dirty.

If you're coming with a group, please know that we'll ask groups larger than 5 people to split up onto different planting crews. We can keep groups of ~5 people together. Thank you for your understanding and support!
