Kids! Spruce Up Tualatin Library (age 8+) *MLK Weekend 2020*

Join us in honoring the legacy of Dr. King through meaningful service to our community: "Everybody can be great... because anybody can serve."
-- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

About:
The Tualatin Public Library's purpose is to provide citizens with open access to the widest range of materials and services to enrich and empower all community members. The City of Tualatin's Volunteer Services department is designed to engage its citizens and augment the delivery of City services to the community. Volunteering is a way for people to participate in their local government and positively contribute to its effectiveness.

Project Description:
Honor the dream and continue the tradition of service inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at our MLK Spruce Up the Tualatin Library volunteer event. Spruce Ups are ideal for families and groups who love their library. Get together with other library fans to dust shelves, prepare craft activities, organize books and socialize while learning about your library.

Tasks will include preparing projects, cleaning books, shelving books, checking shelf order, preparing craft activities, and beautifying the Library. We'll have projects for all ages, we encourage families to come and serve together. Give the library a little TLC and see what treasures are hidden in Tualatin’s Library. We'll provide snacks and beverages!

Important Info:

  • No prior library training is required.

  • Wear comfortable clothing.

  • This is a family-friendly two-hour event with snacks provided.
