Women's Health Speaker Volunteer Needed (age 18+) Referral
Are you knowledgeable about HIV, Hepatitis C and related topics around infectious diseases? Would you like to speak with our women in recovery about these health issues?
We are looking for a speaker to come inform our women in recovery about these critical health concerns. Our need is for a speaker once per month, on the 1st or 3rd Wednesday, from 9:35-10:50.
Qualifications:
• Comfortable with public speaking
• Strong skills with facilitating
• Empathetic and supportive of clients as they share their vulnerability
• Strong interpersonal skills
Location: 200 SE 7th, Portland OR 97214
The Women’s Residential Center is a substance use disorder treatment center serving adult women who are involved in the corrections system. We provide holistic, trauma-informed, evidence-based inpatient treatment, continuing care services, and transitional housing to women who are experiencing substance use/mental health issues and a variety of serious and unique life challenges.
From at-risk youth to victims of domestic violence, recovering addicts and seniors, Volunteers of America Oregon provides a range of supportive and empowering services to our area's most vulnerable populations - and works with them to rebuild their lives and reach their full potential.
Today, through the dedication of more than 300 staff members and 600 volunteers, we help thousands of families in the greater Portland, Oregon and Vancouver, Washington areas. We serve men, women, and children with a continuum of services, touching individuals from all walks of life, from the youngest to the oldest.
