Oregon Food Bank - Fresh Alliance Volunteer (age 18+) Referral

Clackamas Service Center (CSC) is an inclusive "one-stop" community center for individuals and families seeking food relief and resources for improved health, dignity, and stability.

CSC relies on a robust team of volunteers to connect our members to crucial services. Over 300 people volunteer at CSC each year, contributing over 8,000 hours in total. We truly couldn’t do this work without our amazing volunteers!

The project depends on the needs of the Oregon Food Bank Network. Volunteer shifts will take place at Clackamas Service Center. Located at 8800 SE 80th Ave., Portland OR 97206

Volunteers should be prepared to work both indoors and outdoors and be prepared for varying weather conditions. Your shift might entail one or more of the following tasks:

  • Commit for 3 months minimum

  • Unload, sort, and move Fresh Alliance food product

  • Record weight and temperature of Fresh Alliance product

  • Organize and sort produce

  • Assist pantries with loading product into personal vehicles

  • The length of a shift is directly related to the amount of food we receive. The end time is the latest the shift will go, but may end earlier.

  • Volunteers must be able to lift at least 50 pounds from the ground up

  • Comfortable working outdoors

  • Comfortable standing on concrete surfaces for the full shift

  • Must provide your own face mask and wear properly over nose and mouth at all times

  • Must follow/practice social distancing when possible
