Giving Elders H.O.P.E. (age 12+)*Impact Week 2022*
H.O.P.E.’s (Honoring Our Precious Elders), mission is to provide seniors with fixed incomes and limited capabilities free regular year-round yard maintenance. With regular yard work provided by us, we will provide our seniors with peace of mind as well as a sense of connection with the community. Our goal is to help elders age in place and stay in their homes as long as possible.
Volunteers will be briefed on the elders' yard and the intentions of the outcome. Trimming and pruning bushes, pulling weeds and cleaning the front/back/side yard of the elder's home. Gloves and garden tools provided.
The work for the project is outdoors, please dress for the weather. Gloves and garden tools will be provided but please bring your own if you have a favorite. Closed-toed shoes are required. Masks are optional but please feel free to wear one. It is recommended to wear a mask around the elders.
Water and snacks provided, please bring your own water bottle or dietary snacks if you choose.
Vehicle parking available in the neighborhood street. Bikes can be parked in the driveway of elders' home.
Project Requirements:

Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older to attend this project; any volunteer under age 12 must attend with a parent or adult chaperone.

All volunteers under 18 are required to bring a Youth Volunteer Release Form signed by their parent or legal guardian. Please download, complete, and bring this waiver with you on the day of the project.

If you plan to bring children or guests you MUST reserve slots for them. The best way to do this is to create a Volunteer Team, then sign up your team for this project.
IMPORTANT NOTE: You are responsible for ensuring that everyone signed up through your team attends - only sign up team members who have confirmed their availability. Teams that repeatedly sign up, but do not show up or show up with fewer volunteers than they signed up, may be removed.
