Help Build a New Community Garden in SE Portland (age 13+) Referral

That was easy. But, spend just one hour in a vegetable garden and reap unlimited physical, emotional, social, and environmental benefits!
The Portland Memory Garden has been serving specifically people with memory difficulties, their loved ones and caregivers, and the larger community for ten years. Now, the Friends of the Portland Memory Garden are in the process of building a community garden in the large lot next door, in Ed Benedict Park. Please join us on the first and third Saturdays at 9:00 am to make paths for the 10'x20' garden plots. We hope to be ready for spring planting season!
Opportunity Requirements:

The task list changes rapidly, and a variety of equipment may be in use during volunteer times. Volunteers should know their comfort level working around heavier-type equipment, working around ditches, heavy lifting, etc.

Volunteers must be 12 years or older to participate in this project. Volunteers under 13 must attend with an adult chaperone.
