Varnish Furniture for the Family Relief Nursery (age 12+) Referral
Having freshly varnished furniture is key to providing a safe and welcoming environment for the young children and families we serve during their time of stress and isloation.
We welcome you and/or your small group to lightly sand and heavily varnish various bookcases, desks, chairs, and other wooden items that come in contact with our children. The center is closed for the week, so this is an ideal time for spring cleaning!
Work will be done outdoors under cover. Brushes, work gloves, facemasks, and light snacks and beverages provided.
The 10am - 2pm time is recommended. We can work with you anytime from 8am - 4pm for a 3-4 hour shift; just contact us to schedule!
About the East Family Relief Nursery: East FRN is a prevention/intervention program that helps to stop the cycle of child abuse & neglect while also providing development assessments and a therapeutic nursery/preschool environment for children aged 2 ½ - 5 years. The program provides skills training, respite care, and home visits to assist families in re-establishing a safe, caring home environment.
Opportunity Requirements:

Volunteers must be 12 years of age or older to participate in this opportunity; any volunteer under age 16 must attend with a parent or adult chaperone.
