Build Homes with Habitat for Humanity (age 16+) *MLK Weekend 2018*

Join us in honoring the legacy of Dr. King through meaningful service to our community: "Everybody can be great... because anybody can serve."
-- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

About:
We were founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, durable place to live in dignity and safety, and that decent shelter in decent communities should be a matter of conscience and action for all.

That being said, our mission is to see a world where everyone has a decent and affordable place to live. We provide and maintain affordable housing in the Washington County area to low-income families and individuals.

Project Description:
Volunteers will be out at our new construction site learning construction skills from our trained staff and long-term volunteers. Tasks will vary from framing and sheet rocking, to painting and hanging doors. No experience is required to volunteer--we will teach everything a volunteer needs to know day of! We will also provide all the proper tools and safety equipment needed. No matter the task, a volunteer will be making a difference, having an impact, in the fight against poverty.

Join us to make the dream of homeownership a reality for families in Beaverton!

Important Info:
We are currently building our newest neighborhood in Beaverton, Allen Estates. No experience necessary - training, tools and all you need to know in order to do the tasks for the day will be provided!

We are in multiple stages at our construction site currently and volunteers may help in a number of ways, including but not limited to: interior house work, painting, finish work, etc. as well as framing, building walls, etc.
