About the Program
Portland Parks & Recreaction provides equitable access to welcoming places, programs, and services that improve community health and the environment, focusing on making parks safe, accessible, and responsive to diverse community needs through stewardship, equity, safety, and fostering well-being for all residents.
About the Project
Join Portland Parks & Recreation and Marshall Park Neighborhood Association to remove noxious weeds and plant native plants in Marshall Park. The main stem of Tryon Creek flows through the park and supports a healthy population of coastal cutthroat trout. Removing invasively growing species and planting a diversity of native plants enhances wildlife habitat, encourages regeneration of native species and prevents erosion and water runoff. This is a great way to get outside and enjoy nature.
Please bring your own water bottle, wear closed toe shoes, and dress for the weather. Instructions, tools, and gloves will be provided. For the safety of staff and other volunteers, please stay home if you are feeling sick.

Meeting location: The meeting location will differ for each scheduled date. An exact meeting location will be emailed to registered volunteers the day before the event.
Project Requirements
- Age: Volunteers must be 6 years of age or older to attend this project; Volunteers under 16 must either attend with a parent/adult, or bring a waiver.
