Join us as we harvest, prepare the fields for the next season, and help care for the farm through meaningful community service.
About the Program
Our goals look to offer Pre-columbian food education and Implement indigenous knowledge-based sustainability practices. We aim to support BIPOC farmers with marketing and sales and connecting latine community to care for the land and plants, and identifying food system barriers to families and improve access to health services.
About the Project
As the growing season comes to a close, volunteers will join the Latinos Unidos y Floreciendo (LUYF) farm team for a day of harvesting, field preparation, and seasonal farm care.
Together, we'll harvest the last of the summer crops, prepare beds for garlic planting, remove spent plants, and complete end-of-season projects that help ready the farm for winter. Every task supports LUYF's mission of connecting people to land and culture while growing fresh, culturally significant food for the community.
Whether you're an experienced gardener or trying farm work for the first time, your time and effort will help ensure a successful transition into the next growing season.
Project Requirements
- Age: Volunteers must be 16+; under 6 must attend with a parent or adult chaperone.
- Dress code: Closed‑toe shoes recquired.
