DIY Weatherization Workshop Kit Building (age 18+) *Impact Week*
Volunteer Opportunity
Volunteers will assemble weatherization supply kits which will be distributed by CEP staff to low-income households throughout Portland.
About the Program
Community Energy Project (CEP) partners with low-income communities on the frontlines of climate change to create more resilient, efficient, and healthy homes. CEP performs free home services focused on safety, health, and energy efficiency. We provide free community education and supplies, as well as direct home energy upgrades and repairs.
All our services are made possible by partnerships with community members and service organizations, utilities, corporations, foundations, and government agencies.
About the Project
Volunteers will pack weatherization and energy efficiency materials into bags for low-income households. Our weatherization workshop teaches low-cost energy saving techniques for renters and homeowners alike to learn how to save money and energy, stop drafts, and prevent mold. Qualified participants will receive a free kit of materials to lower energy costs and stay warmer in their homes during the colder months.
There is a small parking lot at the office, but there is plenty of off-street parking nearby.
Project Requirements
- Age: Volunteers must be 18+
- Dress code: Comfortable attire suitable for light activity.
