Lend a Hand with Habitat (16+) *Impact Week*
Volunteer Opportunity
Help build homes and strengthen the community at Habitat for Humanity's Gooseberry Trails development, a 52-home permanently affordable housing community. Volunteers will support a variety of construction and site activities while making a tangible impact for local families.
About the Program
Habitat for Humanity Portland Region builds affordable homes across the Portland region, including the cities of Portalnd, Gresham, Beaverton, and Hillsboro. Gooseberry Trails is the affiliate's largest affordable housing community to date and is located in the Southwest Portland's Hillsdale neighbohood. The 5-acre project features 52 permanently affordable, family-sized townhomes.
About the Project
Volunteers play an important role in helping bring this community to life while supporting Habitat's mission of creating safe, stable, and affordable housing.
No construction experience is necessary. Volunteer tasks vary based on the project's phase and the needs of the build site on the day of your shift. You may assist with activities such as framing, siding, painting, installing fixtures, site cleanup, organizing materials, landscaping, or other general construction support. All necessary training, tools, and supervision will be provided by Habitat staff and experienced crew leaders.
Come ready to learn new skills, work alongside fellow volunteers, and help build homes that will create lasting opportunities for families for generations to come. Every volunteer hour contributes to making homeownership more attainable and strengthening our community.
Wear close-toed shoes and comfortable clothing you won't mind getting dirty. Any Personal Protective Equipment required for the project will be provided by the site team.

Project Requirements
- Age: Volunteers must be 16 yrs. or older
- Dress code: Wear close-toed shoes and comfortable clothing you won't mind getting dirty.
