About the Program
We are a nonprofit urban and organic farm that models, promotes and educates about sustainable food systems, environmental stewardship, community development and access to good food for all.
Volunteers are essential to bringing Zenger Farm’s mission to life. By planting and caring for Native plants, volunteers directly support environmental stewardship, biodiversity, and a healthy urban ecosystem. Their work creates habitat for pollinators and wildlife while strengthening the farm’s resilience and beauty.
Just as importantly, volunteer work parties bring people together to learn, share skills, and build a deeper connection to land and nature.
About the Project
Zenger Farm exists upon 24 acres of land comprised of farmland, gardens, wetland, and other green spaces. We work with volunteers to help restore and enhance Native plants in the First Food Beds, hedge rows, and many other green spaces around the farm.
We will dedicate this volunteer shift to weeding out invasive plants and mulching.
Come dig, plant, and grow with us! Bring your enthusiasm and get your hands in the soil as we create a healthier, more vibrant habitat for people, pollinators, and wildlife.
Project Requirements
- Age: Volunteers must be 10+; under 16 must attend with a parent or adult chaperone.
- Dress code: Closed‑toe shoes and dress for the weather.
