From Clutter to Clarity! (age 10+) Referral

Volunteer Opportunity

Help us ensure that guests get the opportunity to choose what they want to wear and what hygiene items they want to use - so they can experience some joy!

About the Program

At Rahab's Sisters, our mission is to cultivate community with women, trans, and nonbinary people through joy and nourishment of body and mind.

As part of our mission we have a clothing and supply boutique available for our Guests to shop any time we are open. Part of being able to offer the boutique means receiving donations and sorting through them so the best items end up on our racks/shelves for Guests to pick out. By helping us go through donations and getting the clothing and supplies ready to put out you will be helping us ensure that Guest get the opportunity to choose what they want to wear and what hygiene items they want to use which helps them get to experience some joy.

About the Project

Come be my clothing sorting superhero's and help me get our storage area organized!

We will sort clothing and supply donations, put big easy to read sizes on pants and bras, and do some general clean up and organizing of our storage area.

Please note: that our storage area is down a flight of stairs. If you have mobility differences and need to stay up stairs I do have activities you can do and I am happy to bring stuff upstairs for you.

Also, if this is your first time volunteering with us I will have a liability waver for you to sign when you arrive.

You will get the opportunity to learn the back end of non profit work and how things come together. Getting first hand experience on what it takes to serve a community of people in this way. You will also learn a lot about donations and what is and isn't ok to give to non profits and what happens to the stuff you do give.
