The heart of the PROPER organization’s mission lies in empowering a community to utilize its own internal resources to create positive development and economic growth.
About the Program
PROPER was founded in 1990 by Apostle E. D. Mondainé of Celebration Tabernacle Church as a community enhancement organization in Portland, Oregon. It affects hundreds of people annually. Within the next 5 years PROPER will continue to expand its time-tested model of internal community involvement into other cities throughout the United States.
Proper depends on our neighbors to support our mission of uniting community across all lines. We receive support from local businesses, community foundations, individual donors, and volunteers. If you or your organization would like to get involved with Proper, we look forward to speaking with you.

About the Project
The PROPER Feast
Here we celebrate the traditions and the table on Thanksgiving Day. And, welcome the volunteer spirit to, among other things, don certified chef coats, entertain through storytelling and sing-a-longs, serve, meet neighbors and to realize this family-friendly time as something so community you’d have to come to believe: Thanksgiving at its soul since 2000!
Volunteers Needed for the following shifts:
Monday, November 23rd - Event Set Up Support
Wednesday, November 25th - Food Prep Clean-Up & Kitchen Help
Thursday, November 26th - Security, Clean-Up, Food Service, and Kitchen Help
Project Requirements
- Age: Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older to participate in this opportunity unsupervised. Under 16 accompanied by a parent or guardian.
