http://www.portlandcm.org

Founded in 1949, the Museum has become a beloved institution where generations of Portlanders have come to discover, create, learn and play. The Museum evolved into one of the nation’s first bona-fide youth museums; PCM is the seventh oldest children’s museum in the world. In recent years, the Museum’s annual attendance has risen to 300,000 visits. Guests come from all over the greater Portland metro area to play in the many permanent exhibits, national traveling exhibits, and to participate in the Museum’s daily offering of programs and activities in any of the Museum's 3 art studios. The mission of Portland Children’s Museum is to inspire imagination, creativity, and the wonder of learning in children and adults by inviting moments of shared discovery. The Museum strives to build a safe environment that stimulates curiosity and creativity, where children of all ethnicities and abilities are free to learn by taking risks, and adults are encouraged to see the world through a child’s unique perspective. The Museum serves as a studio for artists and educators working to develop innovative programs for young people and as a resource for individuals and institutions serving children.
