Help bring Voz's Sembrando Justicia Annual Celebration to life by welcoming guests and creating a joyful, community-centered event that celebrates immigrant worker leadership.
About the Program
Voz is a worker-led organization that empowers diverse day laborers and immigrants to improve their working conditions and protect civil rights through leadership development, organizing, education and economic opportunity. We provide disenfranchised day laborers with leadership development opportunities as well as classes aimed at providing them with the skills they need to secure long-term employment.
Voz uses Popular Education methodology in our leadership development and grassroots organizing, and we have a strong history of community engagement as a worker-led organization.
About the Project
Help transform the venue for Voz's Sembrando Justicia Annual Celebration!
Shift 1, 3:00pm-6:00pm: Volunteers will decorate the space, arrange tables and chairs, set up signage and event materials, and make sure everything is ready to welcome hundreds of workers, supporters, and community members. This is a great shift for people who enjoy working behind the scenes and bringing events to life.
Shift 2, 6:00pm-9:00pm: Help create a warm and welcoming experience for guests during Voz's Annual Celebration. Volunteers will assist with serving food, restocking supplies, keeping the event space tidy, and helping with cleanup at the end of the evening. Your support ensures workers, families, and community members can enjoy a joyful celebration while our staff and members focus on the program.
Spanish speaking is a plus, but not required!
Project Requirements
- Age: Volunteers must be 12+; under 18 must attend with a parent or adult chaperone.
