Salvage Materials for Community Building (age 14+) *MLK Weekend*

Hands On Managed projects offer you an opportunity to join a group of volunteers on a done-in-a-day project led by a Hands On Volunteer Leader

Join us in honoring the legacy of Dr. King through meaningful service to our community: "Everybody can be great... because anybody can serve."

-- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Founded by volunteers in 1998, The ReBuilding Center, a program of Our United Villages, carries the region’s largest volume of used building and remodeling materials. It provides resources that make home repairs affordable to everyone, with the goal of promoting the reuse of salvaged and reclaimed materials.

From sorting donated materials to pulling nails, measuring doors, and organizing handy odds-and-ends, volunteers will have fun supporting this great organization!

Closed toe shoes required. Bring a water bottle and work gloves if you have them. Please dress for the weather, as our building is not climate controlled and can get cold. Some tasks may involve medium to heavy lifting. Enter through the big brown community trees (you'll know them when you see them).

MISSION
Our United Villages inspires people to value and discover existing resources to strengthen the social and environmental vitality of communities. Our United Villages is home to The ReBuilding Center, Community Legacy Program, Deconstruction Services, and ReFind Education.

** Please note that the location of this project may be subject to change. If there is a change, the Volunteer Leader will notify volunteers via email.**
