*ARCHIVE Love Trails, Trees & Travelers? Volunteer at Hoyt Arboretum! (age 18+)
Hoyt Arboretum is Portland’s museum of living trees. People from across the Metro area - and from around the world - enjoy exploring the arboretum’s 6,000 trees along 12 miles of walking trails. Hoyt Arboretum’s Visitor Center is the first stop for most of these visitors, and Visitor Services Representatives are their first point of contact.
Volunteers represent Hoyt Arboretum by providing information to the public and by promoting a positive guest experience for each visitor by:

Providing exceptional customer service by greeting, assisting and engaging with visitors and providing recommendations for their visit to the arboretum.

Sharing knowledge about the arboretum’s trees, trails and events (E.g., classes and tours).

Operating the point-of-sale system (cash register and credit card terminal).

Visitor Services Representatives should be available to volunteer for a minimum of 2 shifts per month, including weekends and occasional weekday requests.All shifts are daytime hours and typically last 3 to 4 hours. Visitor Services Representatives are encouraged to be available for a minimum 6-month commitment.
Hoyt Arboretum is Portland's museum of living trees located on 189-ridge top acres in Washington Park. The Visitor Center is located at 4000 SW Fairview Blvd. The arboretum is home to more than 6,000 trees and plants, including more than 2,000 species (63 of which are threatened or endangered in the wild). To the local community, Hoyt Arboretum represents a unique setting for education, fitness and reflection.
