Help with Book Sale at Ft. Vancouver Library (age 9+) *MLK 2016*

Hands On Managed projects offer you an opportunity to join a group of volunteers on a done-in-a-day project led by a Hands On Volunteer Leader

Join us in honoring the legacy of Dr. King through meaningful service to our community: "Everybody can be great... because anybody can serve."
-- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Help make our book sale a success!

Engage with the Ft. Vancouver Regional Library District by volunteering at their MEGA Library Book Sale! Volunteers will help with sales, re-stocking, organizing, sorting books by category and assist patrons in finding book sections or boxing/bagging & taking items to their cars. Proceeds go to fund summer reading which is vital to keeping student skills strong in between school years. So this has BIG impact in SW Washington! Over 20,000 kids participate in our Summer Reading Programs.

With thirteen libraries, three express libraries and two bookmobiles, Fort Vancouver Regional Library District provides information resources and services, and community and cultural events for a population of more than 425,000 residents.  The service area is more than 4,200 square miles and includes farm, open range and national forest lands, communities along the Columbia River, small towns and expanding urban and industrial areas.

This is a terrific way to recycle no longer needed library books while making them affordable for families, schools/teachers/homeschoolers and everyone else including seniors.
