Play, Pretend, & Volunteer with Chelsea Hicks Foundation (age 18+) Referral

"Inspiring hope and healing to seriously ill children through dress up and play."

Volunteers contribute to the Chelsea Hicks Foundation in a number of ways!

  • Prepping and processing costumes at the warehouse to be delivered to Randall and Doernbecher Children's Hospitals in Chelsea's Closet

  • Delivering costumes and crafts to seriously ill children at Doernbecher and Randall Children's Hospitals

  • Helping to restock Chelsea's Closet full of fun costumes and accessories in between hospital visits

  • Volunteering time to our event committees for preparation and planning of CHF's Annual Costume Ball fundraiser and other yearly fundraising events

  • Costume design and sewing skills? We have costumes that need repair and superhero capes to create!

  • Are you meticulous and love to organize? We have 3200+ costumes in our warehouse to keep you busy!

  • An eye for detail and decor? Help us decorate the ballroom and design centerpieces at the Costume Ball!

  • Computer savvy?

  • Marketing wiz?

Whatever unique skill you might have, we would love to hear how you can contribute to our foundation!

So much work goes on behind the scenes before we show up to play, pretend, and laugh with the children that benefit from Chelsea's Closet. Our Warehouse Volunteers help us in the preparation and planning that ensures we have the perfect superhero costume for a child that needs to forget his troubles and be Batman for the day! Hospital Volunteers are in charge of delivering a costume, a craft, and a smile to the children Chelsea's Closet visits monthly at Randall and Doernbecher Children's Hospitals. Event volunteers represent the Chelsea Hicks Foundation in the community by wearing capes, painting faces, and doing crafts to spread the word about the joy and healing that play therapy can bring to children and families in any situation.

In our office and warehouse we invite you to dress comfortably and casually. At any CHF events, volunteers will be given the CHF t-shirt to represent the foundation.
