Improve Wildlife Habitat at Jenkins Estate (age 10+) *Stand Together Week*

Explore this beautiful more-than-60-acre natural area and historical estate while working with a local business who has adopted the site! Activities will focus on English ivy removal and possibly maintenance of the rhododendron gardens that surround the estate.

The Jenkins Estate is a 68-acre property on the northwest slope of Cooper Mountain, with breathtaking views of gardens and the Tualatin Valley. The property, listed on the National Registry of Historic Places, includes a collection of historic buildings and gardens dating from the early 20th century. Yerba Buena adopted portions of the natural areas in 2017; a local business representing one of Oregon's newest industries stepping up to make a difference at this historical site.

Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District is a special service district that provides parks, recreational opportunities and services for citizens of all ages in Beaverton and other ares of eastern Washington County. THPRD's Nature & Trails staff care for about 1,500 acres of natural area at more than 150 sites within the district. Staff oversee conservation and planning, weed removal, native plant installation, wildlife management and other tasks. Volunteers play a vital role, participating in the vast majority of improvement and restoration projects.

Stand Together Week is the Portland Timbers, Thorns FC, and T2 citywide volunteer initiative that brings the community together to support local nonprofit organizations. The week engages hundreds of supporters, including Timbers, Thorns FC, & T2 players, coaches, ambassadors and front office staff who work with various non-profits in the community. Since 2012, Stand Together Week participants have donated 15,371 hours of service at over 193 projects focused on benefiting youth and the environment.
