About:
Wisdom is a Native American nonprofit with a vision of cultural and environmental sustainability, multimedia education and race reconciliation. Our mission: Wisdom records, preserves and shares oral history, cultural arts, language concepts, and TEK of exemplary Native American elders and scientists in collaboration with environmental organizations, educational institutions, and government agencies. Projects: Discovering Yidong Xinag* (*means “the old wisdom”) Native youth leadership initiative; Wisdom Workforce Native American adult environmental workforce program; Multimedia Program with multiple projects.
Project Description:
Volunteers will be hosted at the Wisdom of the Elders offices and gardens, which are in a residential area. We will be doing a deep cleaning of the office and the garden, so please dress for the weather and bring gloves and a water bottle if you have them.

Project Requirements:

You must be 5 years of age or older to attend this project; any volunteer under age 13 must attend with a parent or adult chaperone.

All volunteers under 18 are required to bring a Youth Volunteer Release Form signed by their parent or legal guardian. Please download, complete, and bring this waiver with you on the day of the project.

Team Captains are only able to reserve up to 50% of the spots on any individual MLK Weekend of Service Project. Team Captains are required to provide names and email addresses for each team member (over the age of 13) in order to hold spaces on a volunteer project or they may be removed from the project.
