SafeChoice has a policy to not publish the shelter address on websites or in print materials. As such we request that the address is emailed directly to any volunteer associated with the project. Please email Alix directly for the address once you have registered.
Volunteers will help beautify the SafeChoice shelter's staff room. Staff and volunteers use this space to take a break while on shift and SafeChoice would love to make sure the room is calm and gives staff the opportunity to take some peaceful moments while on break. Staff provide direct service advocacy in a 24-hour shelter setting and having a staff area is really important in creating balance in their roles.
Volunteers will primarily paint and may do other tasks, time permitting, including a light cleaning and repositioning furniture after the painting is completed. We may finish a little bit early, we may incorporate other volunteer activites; we ask that you please be flexible!
Please wear painting clothes! If you have a paint roller and fresh roller sponge, bringing those would be very helpful.

Team Captains are only able to reserve up to 50% of the spots on any individual MLK Weekend of Service Project. Team Captains are required to provide names and email addresses for each team member in order to hold spaces on a volunteer project or they may be removed from the project. Questions? Teams that repeatedly sign up, but do not show up or show up with fewer volunteers than they signed up, may be removed.
