Make it Count! Become a Census 2020 Help Volunteer (age 18+) Referral

Volunteer to assist Multnomah County Library patrons with completing their Census 2020 form. Every 10 years, the United States government counts communities to determine how much money to give for services and resources. This is the first time people are being asked to complete the Census mostly online. Key changes to the 2020 Census will disproportionately affect communities that are the hardest to count and who rely on that funding. As a volunteer, you will provide assistance during 1-on-1 Census help appointments and help to make sure that everyone gets counted.

Volunteers will answer questions and help library patrons complete their census forms online. We have a strong need for bilingual volunteers in the following languages: Spanish, Vietnamese, Mandarin, Cantonese, Russian, Somali and Arabic.

Duties:

-Provide assistance for patrons needing additional help completing their census forms.
-Share resources and answer questions about the Census.
-Guide patrons through the completion of their form and potentially assist with form input if the patron is unable to do it.
