211 Resource - Remote Volunteers Needed! (age 18+) Referral

At 211, our central hub empowers Oregon and Southwest Washington communities by helping people identify, navigate and connect with the local resources they need.

211info is a partner in emergency response, providing reliable and accessible information during rapidly changing conditions. Our work supports emergency planning and response, with a central point of contact during severe weather, wildfires, flooding and public health emergencies.

211 is the go-to public phone number to get information about Novel Coronavirus. This program is a partnership with Oregon Health Authority.

CORE FUNCTION:

Assist Oregon’s emergency response to COVID-19 by contacting partner agencies (health and social service programs) to gather updated information about their service delivery, hours, eligibility, etc. Record information using excellent attention to detail—this information will be input into the 211info resource database and relied on by 211info contact center staff as they provide resource information, and by users of the 211info.org online database.

Please note that this work will be done remotely. Volunteers will need to have a reliable computer and headset.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Attention to detail with reliable and up-to-date information on program locations, hours, intake processes, languages offered and eligibility requirements.

  • Strong customer service delivery and ability to communicate with service providers while gathering information.

  • Commitment to principles of equity, diversity and inclusion.

  • Ability to use standard business application software programs.
