Plant Trees at a Wildlife Refuge w/ Friends of Trees! (age 6+)*Impact Week 2022*

Friends of Trees inspires people to improve the world around them through a simple solution. Planting trees. Together.
Your help is needed to plant hundreds of native trees and shrubs at the Jackson Bottom Wetlands Preserve! Friends of Trees provides gloves, tools, breakfast snacks, and guidance -- no experience necessary. We simply ask that you dress for the weather and being comfortable working outdoors in getting dirty (planting trees can be dirty, but fun work! Jackson Bottom is a 635-acre wetland complex on the Tualatin River that is designated as an Important Bird Area for both migrating and non-migratory species.
We provide gloves, tools, breakfast snacks, and guidance, so all you need to do is show up dressed for the weather and wearing sturdy shoes or boots (no sandals of any kind, please!) and be ready to have fun!
Please follow the 'Friends of Trees' signs as you arrive. After parking, there will be a 5-10 minute walk to where the planting events is happening.

Project Requirements:

  • Volunteers must be 6 years of age or older to attend this project; any volunteer under age 16 must attend with a parent or adult chaperone.

  • All volunteers under 18 are required to bring a Youth Volunteer Release Form signed by their parent or legal guardian. Please download, complete, and bring this waiver with you on the day of the project.

  • If you plan to bring children or guests you MUST reserve slots for them. The best way to do this is to create a Volunteer Team, then sign up your team for this project.

    IMPORTANT NOTE: You are responsible for ensuring that everyone signed up through your team attends - only sign up team members who have confirmed their availability. Teams that repeatedly sign up, but do not show up or show up with fewer volunteers than they signed up, may be removed.
