Tryon Creek Steward Day (age 13+)*Impact Week 2022*
The mission of Friends of Tryon Creek, in partnership with Oregon State Parks, is to inspire every community to identify, cultivate or reclaim their relationship with nature in this cherished urban forest. Since 1970, Friends of Tryon Creek have provided education and volunteer experiences at Tryon Creek State Natural Area.
Volunteers are a key part in helping Oregon State Parks improve forest biodiversity at Tryon Creek State Natural Area. Fall volunteer events include hiking about two miles, working by hand and with tools to remove noxious weeds and planting native trees and shrubs. Tool safety and directions will be provided.
Please come prepared to hike and work off trail in a variety of weather conditions, layered clothing, long pants and sturdy shoes are all a good idea.
Bus access is very limited and requires a 1 mile walk from the intersection of SW Terwilliger and Boones Ferry. Parking is available in the main lot near the Nature Center.
Project Requirements:

Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older to attend this project; any volunteer under age 13 must attend with a parent or adult chaperone.

All volunteers under 18 are required to bring a Youth Volunteer Release Form signed by their parent or legal guardian. Please download, complete, and bring this waiver with you on the day of the project.

If you plan to bring children or guests you MUST reserve slots for them. The best way to do this is to create a Volunteer Team, then sign up your team for this project.
IMPORTANT NOTE: You are responsible for ensuring that everyone signed up through your team attends - only sign up team members who have confirmed their availability. Teams that repeatedly sign up, but do not show up or show up with fewer volunteers than they signed up, may be removed.
