Toiletry Sorting Hygiene Services for the Homeless(age 8+) *Impact Week*

Transition Projects helps people transition from homelessness to housing, by meeting people experiencing homelessness where they're at and providing the supportive services they need to get off the streets. We serve people's basic needs through street outreach and a drop-in resource center; shelter over 500 people each night in seven shelters; and provide the support needed to address wellness, income and housing barriers in order to find - and maintain - housing.

Transition Projects relies on donations of clothing, linens, hygiene items and more to supply our programs and our participants with needed items. We rely on volunteers to help us sort these donations and route them to the programs that need them.

Volunteers will participate in a brief orientation and training session with staff before diving into a large donation of mixed hygiene products, sorting and packing shampoo and conditioner, soaps, dental supplies and more - essentials that are always in need at our shelters, and at the showers available in our resource center!

We will be working in a somewhat dusty warehouse, so please wear clothing that can get a bit dirty! Closed-toe shoes are required. Volunteers should bring their own water.
