Helmet Fitting for Low-income Youth

Join a group of volunteers on a done-in-a-day project led by a Hands On Greater Portland project leader. No advance training or ongoing commitment required, so sign up and participate in a project that fits your schedule. Need help signing up? Call 503-200-3355. Help fit brand new helmets for low-income youth and let them get ready for a summer on their bikes! In conjunction with the Tigard Police Department and the Department of Parks and Recreation, the Washington County Bicycle Transportation Coalition will be putting on 5 helmet fitting events at low-income apartment complexes. The events will be June 27, July 1, 8, 15 and 22nd. These events are all at different apartment complexes. If you would like to participate, you must select “Sign me up” at the bottom of this page and you will receive the specific address in your confirmation email. Volunteers will have on-site training to learn how to fit helmets. All volunteers will receive one free helmet!!! This project is great volunteers ages 16 and older.
