Lead Science Activities at OMSI! (age 14+) *MLK 2012*

Hands On Managed projects offer you an opportunity to join a group of volunteers on a done-in-a-day project led by a Hands On Volunteer Leader

Be one of 2,100 volunteers honoring the legacy of Dr. King through meaningful service to communities throughout the Greater Portland area.

Help guests discover the fun side of science at OMSI; join us as a science educator for the day! Following a short training session with OMSI staff, volunteers will facilitate an evening of hands-on science activities at various stations for OMSI visitors. such as spin art, fingerprint activities, making casts of dinosaur claws, gyotaku (fish printing) and other easy-to-learn activities. Volunteers will work in small teams and staff each station for 30-45 minutes, then move on to the next station.

Volunteers at this event receive general admission to the museum before their shift and a 20% volunteer discount in the OMSI Café and Science Store on the day of their shift.

Bring a watch, snack and water bottle. You do not need to bring supplies; everything will be provided!
