Born to be Wild: Raise Funds for Chimps! (age 21+) Referral
Be a part of helping IDA-Africa save great apes from extinction! Help host a benefit to raise funds for the care and protection of the chimpanzees of the Sanaga-Yong Rescue Center in Cameroon Africa!
The event will be an evening of education and entertainment, including a dinner, presentation, silent and live auction and the opportunity to enter a raffle for a trip to either New York, Napa Valley or St. Kitts.
Volunteer tasks for the 1230-530pm shift will include decorating, posting signage, setting up the dining area, setting-up the silent auction, assisting the caterer and other projects as they arise.
Volunteer tasks for the 530-1030pm shift will include greeting guests, assisting the caterer, bussing tables and light clean up, spotting for the live auction, post-event clean up of decorations, signage and the dining area .
For the 530-1030pm shift, please dress appropriately for the event by wearing all black, preferably black slacks and a nicer black shirt. Shoes should also be nice, but definitely comfortable. Please no black jeans/t-shirts or tennis shoes. For the earlier shift there is not a dress code.
IDA-Africa very much appreciates your help and will provide light snacks and non-alcoholic beverages throughout the day.
In the country of Cameroon In Defense of Animals-Africa runs the Sanaga-Yong Chimpanzee Rescue Center, a forest sanctuary for orphaned chimpanzees taken captive as infants by hunters. In collaboration with the government of Cameroon, IDA-Africa wages a global public education and sensitization campaign to prevent extinction of chimpanzees and gorillas.
