Gilbert Park Elementary Day of Service in the Garden (age 5+) *MLK 2015*

Gilbert Park Elementary is thrilled to have installed a new outdoor classroom and native habitat/learning garden in our school's central courtyard this past year.

Join the Gilbert Park community for a day of service work in our new educational gardens. We will be cleaning up our native habitat garden in preparation for the upcoming growing season. Activities for this will include: pulling weeds, hauling/removing debris, pruning, mulching, and applying wood chips to our paths. There will also be kid-appropriate activities (not necessarily all work), and we will be potting up divisions and root cuttings of plants from our garden for folks to take home.

We will meet in the central courtyard of the school for the work party. All ages and skill-levels welcome. Please come dressed appropriately for work and weather -- wear layers, warm closed-toed shoes, and bring water/snacks to keep you going!
