Farmworker Outreach Volunteers Needed! (Spanish Bilingual) (age 16+) Referral
Are you Spanish Bilingual and interested in a fulfilling volunteer opportunity in Washington and Yamhill Counties? Join Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center in our healthcare outreach program to help serve farmworker camps and plants nurseries. Our mobile clinic visits these camps and nurseries in order to provide healthcare services and health education to farmworkers and their families. Some of the things that you will be doing:
* Helping patients to complete REALD and other forms
* Escorting patients to the appropriate providers/locations onsite
* Unloading and loading supplies for each event
* Providing support wherever needed during event
Outreach occurs on Tuesdays and Thursdays from June 17th to August 14th. Times run from either 2:00 pm to about 8:00 pm or 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. Both times and locations vary with each shift. Volunteers do need to be able to drive to each location independently.
You will be outside in the summer weather, so please dress for heat, rain, sun, etc. Closed-toe shoes required. VG-logo volunteer T-shirt and baseball cap will be provided. Pants/shorts should hit just above the knees. No tank tops/spaghetti straps, etc.
The Mission of the Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center is to provide high quality health care to the communities of Washington and Yamhill counties with a special emphasis on those who have barriers to receiving health care.
Opportunity Requirements:-
Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older to participate in this opportunity.
