82 Roses Parade Activators (age 14+) Referral
The 19th Annual Roses in the Heart of Portland Parade is Saturday, April 26, 2025
The 82nd Avenue of Roses Parade highlights the best of East Portland with representation of Asian, Black and Indigenous communities, the 82nd Avenue of Roses Parade features a multicultural diverse community.
Sign up to be a Parade Activator and help set up for a parade. The 82nd Avenue of Roses Parade steps off at 9:30AM so volunteers start a couple of hours before.
Parade Activators set up the area at the Cinemark Theater at Eastport Plaza Shopping Center, placing tents, tables and traffic cones in the parade line up area. Volunteers also help check in entries, support award presentations, and assist parade participants to line up for a smooth launch. Activators keep a mindful eye on streets and vehicles while lining up and monitoring the parade. Teams of two or more volunteers cover each other for breaks. Bright colored event T-shirts signify volunteer status.
The 82nd Avenue of Roses Parade helps volunteers focus on public awareness through appreciation of community art, music and dance. 82nd Avenue of Roses Parade Volunteers we'll get a chance to experience the wonder and diversity of East Portland through the entries of the parade itself. Lee’s Association Dragon and Lion Dance Team will be joining the Parade, along with the Last Regiment of Syncopated Drummers and the Rose Festival Clown Prince along with Rose Festival princesses. The Friesian Horses from Washington will also dance their way to the appreciation of many adults and children. A Classic Car Club brings out their shiniest displays and neighborhood groups from all over East Portland show up to show off pride in their community.
The mission of 82 Roses Community Enrichment Coalition (82 Roses) is to promote positive community development through the promotion and management of the Roses in the Heart of Portland Parade.
Our purpose is to intentionally build spirit and public involvement in support of the community around 82nd Avenue. We show our appreciation of community art, music and dance through the diverse community members who participate as entries and volunteers in the Parade.
