Portland Rose Festival Parade Day Barricade Guides (age 18+) Referral
The Portland Rose Festival has inspired the public to gather and celebrate against a backdrop of historic external forces for 118 years, demonstrating how our community can carry on traditions and celebrate unity.
We're looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help support the parade to ensure safety of participants and spectators by actively managing street closure barricades. Volunteers will help act as the "eyes and ears" around the parade route and work with our on-site safety team to report any incidents.
Responsibilities Include:
-Ensure the safety of parade participants and guests by actively managing street closure barricades
-Greet people and welcome them to the parade
-Assist parade participants through entry & exit areas
-Report incidents to the safety team on site
-Guide community members in wayfinding around the parade area

Volunteers needed for the following parades:
-CareOregon Starlight Parade on Saturday, May 31, 4:00pm – 10:30/11:00pm
-Fred Meyer Junior Parade on Wednesday, June 4, 10:30am – 3:30pm
-Grand Floral Parade on Saturday, June 7, 7:00am – 2:00pm
Please sign up along with family and friends! In exchange for your time, parade day volunteers will receive a free ticket into CityFair, a volunteer t-shirt, and community service hours. Parade Guides should be 18 or over.
The Portland Rose Festival relies on thousands of dedicated volunteers to bring our events and programs to life. Right now we're in prime preparation time, and are looking for volunteers to help make Festival events a success. “ Successful communities are built on strong partnerships."
