Land Tending Days (age 13+) Referral
Join Friends of Tryon Creek and/or Oregon State Park to connect with and care for the park by removing ivy growing up trees, planting or caring for newly planted trees near the creek. Volunteer activities include hiking and the use of hand tools. Instruction, gloves and tools provided (feel free to bring your own gloves).
Friends of Tryon Creek is a community-supported nonprofit started in 1970 by a group of dedicated park neighbors to preserve Tryon Canyon. Our mission in partnership with Oregon State Parks is to inspire every community to identify, cultivate or reclaim their relationship with nature in this cherished urban forest.
Volunteers learn about local plants, ecology and stewardship efforts underway to improve the park environment. As well as hand on techniques to care for the land.

Opportunity Requirements:

Volunteers must be 13 years of age or older to participate in this opportunity; any volunteer under age 16 must attend with a parent or adult chaperone.
