Cemetery Tending at Brainard (age 8+) Referral
Join Metro Parks and Nature's Community Education & Stewardship team in tending to Brainard Cemetery. Participants will clean and clear around grave markers and headstones. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about symbols found on headstones. Participants will support weeding, raking up apples, support with litter and branch pickup. Metro manages 18,000 acres of parks, trails and natural areas (including cemeteries) across the Portland metropolitan region, from wild forests like Chehalem Ridge to beloved destinations like Oxbow Regional Park. Thanks to voters, this network of protected land continues to get bigger and healthier. By volunteering at this site, we support this community in preserving local history while caring for the memorials and headstones of those who have passed on.
Opportunity Requirements:

Volunteers must be 8 years of age or older to participate in this opportunity; any volunteer under age 16 must attend with a parent or adult chaperone.
