Fall Cleaning at Transition Projects (age 16+) *Impact Week 2025*
About the Program
Each year, Transition Projects assists over 10,000 people experiencing homelessness. Roughly half of Portlanders experiencing homelessness are currently unsheltered. Our Navigation Team seeks to engage people where they are, build trust, and help make connections to needed support services. Sack lunches provide a healthy meal and help build connections.
Each day, Transition Projects' Resource Center sees approximately 400 individuals experiencing homelessness. The Resource Center provides free showers, laundry, clothing, and more 7 days a week. As you can imagine, this space needs a good deep cleaning now and then. Volunteers will help clean the center top to bottom to have a safe and clean space for the Fall.
Volunteers should wear comfortable clothes that might get dirty. Wear closed-toed shoes. Gloves and masks provided. Bring a water bottle if you like.
Project Requirements:

Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older to attend this project; any volunteer under age 18 must attend with a parent or adult chaperone.

All volunteers under 18 are required to bring a Youth Volunteer Release Form signed by their parent or legal guardian. Please download, complete, and bring this waiver with you on the day of the project.

If you plan to bring children or guests you MUST reserve slots for them. The best way to do this is to create a Volunteer Team, then sign up your team for this project. In the spirit of creating an atmosphere where people from all parts of our community are coming together to volunteer,
Team Captains are only able to reserve up to 50% of the spots on any individual Community Impact Week Service Project. Team Captains are required to provide names and email addresses for each team member (over the age of 13) in order to hold spaces on a volunteer project or they may be removed from the project.
