Deliver Lifesaving Blood Across Portland with the Red Cross (age 18+) Referral
Are you a dependable, safe and courteous driver who can help us make important blood deliveries?
- Transportation Specialists deliver life-saving blood products from the Portland Blood Donation Center (3131 N Vancouver Ave, Portland, OR 97227) processing labs and/or to hospitals in Multnomah County, using a Red Cross-owned vehicle or your own personal vehicle. Other responsibilities include delivering supplies to blood collection sites, picking up empty boxes from hospitals, completing required paperwork, and obtaining necessary signatures.
You’ll also need to meet these important qualifications:
- Have a valid state driver's license and proof of insurance
- Have 3 years driving experience and a clean driving record (an MVR check will be completed as part of the interview process)
- Can lift up to 45 lbs.
- Be comfortable using a smart phone and mobile app.
Time Commitment:
- 2 shifts a month are required. Shifts are typically 1.5-2 hours in length.
- Weekday afternoon and weekend availability preferred.
