Villages NW is all about neighbors helping neighbors age in their own homes. We bridge existing gaps in senior services and family support with age-friendly resources, volunteers, and an expanded network of friends close to home.
When we are young, we take for granted our abilities to accomplish things – seeing to simple chores around the house, getting around in our community, even visiting friends. As we grow older, things become more challenging. Villages NW is an organization of volunteers and friends that lend a helping hand.
Transportation is our most requested service followed by assistance with household chores (changing light bulbs, moving furniture, yard clean up) and help understanding how to use smart phones, tablets and computers. We offer older adults the opportunity to have meaningful involvement in the community and our volunteers organize 180 social, educational and wellness activities every month.
We have 10 Villages in the greater Portland Metropolitan area and Manzanita/Nehalem serving 750 members. In 2023 we provided 5,013 services.
