Minds Matter Portland connects driven and determined students from low-income families with the people, preparation, and possibilities to succeed in college, create their future, and change the world.
As a college-access organization, Minds Matter provides mentoring, tutoring, and college application support for cohorts of high-achieving, low-income high school students who aim to attend a four-year university. Students join our program as sophomores and spend three years with us developing their academic and professional skills with the help of volunteer mentors, tutors, and college counselors.
We believe that no student dedicated to earning a college education should be limited by socioeconomic status. 100% of our students are accepted to four year colleges and 88% of our program alumni have graduated from a 4-year college or university.
