Friends of Columbia Park (FOCP) is a grassroots, all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit building a stronger community around Columbia Park in North Portland. Our mission is to ensure Columbia Park is Portland’s cherished outdoor hub for the well-being of current and future generations through advocacy, stewardship, and programming. We partner with the City of Portland and community members to maintain and improve the park and its amenities, including helping maintain and operate the Columbia Cottage as an affordable gathering place for neighbors and community groups.
Our services include recurring volunteer opportunities (including monthly litter cleanups), hands-on park improvement projects (native plantings and habitat enhancement), and family-friendly engagement like our Children’s Discovery Walk. We also engage in community advocacy to protect and strengthen key public park amenities—such as our ongoing advocacy for the historic Columbia Park Pool.
